HELLENIC PETROLEUM SA has been apprised of the ruling issued today by the Hellenic Competition Commission concerning the investigation into the fixing of prices for aircraft fuel by oil refining companies in January 2003. HELLENIC PETROLEUM SA states categorically that it has never been involved in any coordinated attempt with others to fix fuel prices. HELLENIC PETROLEUM SA believes that the Commission did not take into consideration crucial evidence and issues raised by the company and therefore does not agree in any way with the ruling. The company will defend its interests by appealing against the ruling before the competent courts by all legal means.
