NOTIFICATION OF IMPORTANT CHANGES CONCERNING THE VOTING RIGHTS DERIVING FROM SHARES UNDER L.3556/2007

Pursuant to the provisions of L.3556/2007, Piraeus Bank notifies investors that on the 13th of January 2009 the percentage of voting rights attached to shares of its issuance which may be exercised by proxy holder (Mr Georgios Liakopoulos) during the Extraordinary General Meeting of Piraeus Bank of 23/01/2009, amounted to 8,05748% of the total number of voting rights of the Bank, namely 26.552.910 voting rights. The threshold crossed by the person subject to the notification obligation is 5%.

The voting rights attached to shares prior the triggering transaction are as following: The total number of voting rights was below the minimum limit and the total percentage of the voting rights was below the minimum limit.

The voting rights attached to shares following the triggering transaction are as following: The total number of shares amounts to 109.447(directly), the total number of voting rights amounts to 2.992 (directly) and 26.549.918 (indirectly) and the total percentage of the voting rights amounts to 0,00091% (directly) and 8,05657% (indirectly).

Mr. Georgios Liakopoulos will discontinue possessing 26.549.918 voting rights on 24.01.2009.
