Piraeus Bank announces that following the decision of the Annual Ordinary General Shareholders' Meeting (dated 3.4.2008) and the resolution of the Board of Directors (dated 4.4.2008), on 16/09/2008 it purchased 200.000 own shares, through the ATHEX member Piraeus Securities S.A., with average cost price euro 14,92 per share and total purchase price euro 2.984.522,16.
