February 9, 2006 MARFIN FINANCIAL GROUP HOLDINGS S.A. informs the investing public that, on 06.02.2006, an over-the-counter transaction was realized in Nicosia, Cyprus for the purchase of 30,580,000 shares (i.e. 9.98% of total) for the amount of 1.70 Cyprian Pound per share. After the carrying out of the aforesaid transaction, MARFIN FINANCIAL GROUP HOLDINGS S.A. has become the largest shareholder of the company "LAIKI CYPRIAN BANK PUBLIC CO. LTD".
