The main activity of "HELLENIC FABRICS SA" is the production of indigo denim fabric, which is used in the production of blue jeans. The company is among the three largest denim producers in Europe and the only one in Greece. Denim is a product of mass consumption and is distributed to blue jeans industries worldwide; the ones that employ strict quality standards are the target customers of "HELLENIC FABRICS SA". - During the first half of 2009 the Group's turnover amounted to 32.97 mln euro as compared to 45.24 mln euro in the relative last year period, showing a 27.1% reduction. The gross profit margin of the group amounted to euro 1.4 mln, in comparison to euro 4.37 mln in the relevant last year period. Group's consolidated net results before taxes, interest and depreciation (EBITDA) amounted to euro -1.85 mln, from euro 0.67 mln in the relative last year period. The Group's financial results before taxes from the continued activities amounted to euro -5.83 mln from euro -3.68 mln of the relevant last year period. The consolidated net results after taxes and minority rights for the continued and discontinued activities amounted to euro -7.08 mln as compared to euro -4.53 mln of the relevant period of 2008.
- The parent company's turnover amounted to 23.09 mln euro as compared to 36.05 mln euro in the relative last year period. The gross profit margin of the parent company amounted to euro 0.45 mln, while in the 1st half of 2008 it was euro 3.80 mln. The parent company's EBITDA is reduced in comparison to the previous year and amounted in the 1st half of 2009 to euro -2.51 mln from euro 0.13 mln of the relative last year period. The parent company's financial results before taxes from the continued activities amounted to euro -4.86 mln from euro -2.41 mln of the relevant last year period.
