Lannet Communications, a Fixed Telephony company listed in the telecommunications sector of the Athens Stock Exchange, commenced its activity in 1999. It was the first Greek company that materialized its connection interconnection with the local Public Telecom Carrier (OTE). Lannet is still leading the way in its sector, serving residential and business clients through its privately owned nation-wide network, which it continuously develops and expands with the same interest and care as in the very beginning.
Lannet provides voice and data transmission services and supplies products and software applications by International Telecommunications and Information Technology Houses, creating and supporting Integrated Communication Solutions for contemporary firms as well as individuals.
The company’s mission is the designing, application and support of Integrated Communication Solutions aiming as full coverage of large and small-medium size enterprises as well as of individual customers.
The Company became listed vis-à-vis the merger of G. GIANNOUSIS S.A. and LAN-NET COMMUNICATIONS SA.., which was completed based on the Ministry of Development decision on 16.07.2002 (protocol no. K2 - 8928/16.7.2002). This corporate action was registered in the relevant public records (protocol no. 10509/02) and was published in the Government Gazette (7468/17.07.2002). Later on, in October 2003 the manufacturing operations (ex G. GIANNOUSIS) were spun-off, and Lannet was operating solely as a telecommunications services provider.
The present full name of the Company is "LAN-NET COMMUNICATIONS SOCIETE ANONYME" registered in the Societe Anonymes Registration Records with the Registry no. 2640/06/B86/03. The Company’s duration is further extended until 12/31/2053 (Government Gazette 12832/12.04.2003). The Company operates as a Societe Anonyme according to the Greek Law. During 2005 following the merger with LANTEC S.A. in December 2003 and the preceding transmission of the Finishing Unit sector, Lannet operates as a telecommunication company.
Lannet is active in deregulated telecommunication services supply to enterprises, banks and other organizations. For that purpose the Company constructed a modern ATM telecommunications network with eleven nodes in Greece and in Great Britain. Specifically, there are seven (7) nodes located in large Greek cities (Athens, Thessalonica, Iraklion, Rhodes, Larissa, Veria, Patra), four (4) peripheral nodes in four Greek cities (Chalkida, Tripoli, Kavala and Giannena) and one in London.
LAN-NET is an alternative telecommunications service provider operating in Greece and in Great Britain in the context of laws related to the deregulation of telecommunications in Greece, Great Britain, and the European Union. Its operation is based on general and special licenses that the company has received by the National Telecommunications and Post Offices Committee as well as by the British Ministry of Commerce.
Specifically, the telecommunications services provided are the following:
- Fixed Telephony and Facsimile Services (fax) (international calls, long distance calls, calls from fixed to mobile phones, number provision, pre-paid cards, fax, data video and other services)
- Number provision services through the supply of geographic and non geographic numbers (800 xxx xxxx – 801 xxx xxxx - 901 xxx xxxx)
