November 9, 2006 PC SYSTEMS concluded successfully the "PEGASUS" project associated with the upgrading of the Aeronautic Information Services (AIS) of the Civil Aviation Service undertaken through open tender by the Ministry of Growth & Development. The project, budgeted at 7 mill. Euro with 85% subsidy by the Cohesion Fund of the European Union, was of high priority and great importance for the upgrading of services provided by the CAS. More specifically, "PEGASUS" was designed and implemented so that the Civil Aviation Service complies with international standards (ICAO, EUROCONTROL) and the collection, issue and publication process of certified Aeronautic Information becomes automatic.
PC SYSTEMS was in charge of the technical implementation and support of the AIS system at National level. More specifically, the company undertook the supply and installation of computer systems and peripherals, the training of personnel and the support of the productive operation, while the German company Aviation Management Technologies Α.G. being the sub-contractor undertook the development of software applications.
It is noted that both users and recipients of information by the AIS System include airlines, airports, pilots, Air-clubs, Military Services, other similar Domestic and Foreign Services etc.
It is worth mentioning that the system, one of the most integrated and state-of-the art in Europe, will operate in at least 50 airports and Aviation Services in Greece. It is also noted that the system's main installations are with the Region Control Service of AIS at the Elliniko ex-airport premises, while for emergency cases a replica site in Thessaloniki is provided.
The successful realization of PEGASUS proves PC SYSTEMS's experience and expertise in "Safety Critical" projects of the airport community. For more than a decade, the company has significantly contributed to relative infrastructure development, cooperating closely with SITA since 1999, with Hochtief, ABB and Krantz TKT on the construction of the Athens International Airport, as well as with the AIA IT Division on the global success of the inauguration of the new Athens airport on fixed time, a cooperation which applies up to date.
PC SYSTEMS is active in the Systems Integration area. The company's core activities focus on the design, distribution, support, training and maintenance of information systems, the provision of advanced technology services to the information technology and telecommunications sectors, the systems integration and the development of business software.
PC SYSTEMS enjoys international co-operations and certifications from major foreign firms (Autodesk, CISCO, EMC, Epson, Fujitsu Siemens, HP, IBM, INTEL, Microsoft, Oracle, Red hat, Sun, Symantec, 3Com) and also employs more than 160 expert executives in Athens and Thessaloniki.
